Most of my adult life has been spent in Johannesburg, notwithstanding my Zimbabwean birth.

 

I've had a retail shop in Franschhoek while also co-owning a jewellery firm and workshop in Johannesburg. My main responsibility was as a designer. I adore all forms of design, but jewellery creation in particular captures my passion of pattern, composition, expressiveness, and colour in three dimensions.

 

I started my own business, Ali-Schmidt.com, in early 2022. Private consultation, step-by-step design, locating the most exquisite diamonds and coloured stones and providing a professional service for my clients will always be my approach. 

 

Over the past 20 years, I have developed strong bonds with clients in South Africa and internationally. I genuinely enjoy getting to know my customers.
